On Thursday, February 18th learning partners in Years 4 and 5 worked on designing and constructing towers. It is a part of a programme called “Kinder entdecken Technik” sponsored by BASF, who provides the woodwork and toolkits. The goal of the programme is to develop children skills in areas like engineering and construction promoting creativity and teamwork. The programme was linked to the UOI on force and motion. One of our mums, Pilar Salvá, supported the activity. The LPs had a lot of fun cutting, sawing and drilling, and learned a great deal about the do’s and don’ts of design and construction and how force and motion applies to this process.
