IGCSE: First attempt, 100% success !!!
August 2010: ISN’s first IGCSE awards - International General Certificate of Secondary Education (the University of Cambridge International Examinations, UK).
In May 2010, all of our 12 ‘learning partners’ (Grades 9-10) sat the prestigious and challenging IGCSE examinations in English, German, French, Combined Science, Mathematics, Computer studies, Geography, History and Business studies and ISN’s pass rate is 100% ! A rare achievement that puts our small ‘house of learning’ amongst the top schools worldwide.
3 of our LPs (Stefan.M, Philipp.O and Sophie.M) achieved A* (the highest IGCSE grade). Another rare achievement came from Nora.G, Laetitia.G, Sophie.M and Philipp.O who passed their IGCSE’s with 3 languages (English, French and German).
Our learning partners scored 5 A*’s, 12 A’s, 17 B’s, 23 C’s, 9 D’s and 3 E’s. IGCSE grades range from E (the minimum pass mark) to A* (the highest grade). Grades C and above are accepted by colleges and universities worldwide for access to university foundation courses or pre-university courses.
The ISN combines two powerful philosophies – the SBW’s and the IBO’s - to create a learning environment that is stimulating and challenging for both mentors and learning partners. Within this community of learners, we all strive to become autonomous, lifelong learners, respectful citizens of the world and internationally-minded. |
